Dr. Kristina Clevinger

Licensed Psychologist
Teen, Young Adult & Athlete Mental Health Specialist

I’m a licensed psychologist specializing in supporting teens and young adults who are struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, life stress, relationships, disordered eating, and body image concerns. I also bring expertise in sport psychology and athlete mental health, helping athletes of all levels navigate performance challenges, injury recovery, identity transitions, and the internal pressures that come with competition.

I believe therapy is most effective when it feels safe, collaborative, and tailored to you. Change begins with understanding your experiences, your patterns, and what truly matters to you, and I work with you to make sense of life’s challenges in ways that lead to meaningful, lasting growth. Whether you’re coping with overwhelming expectations, navigating the difficult terrain of relationships, or seeking greater confidence and self-understanding, I’m here to walk alongside you with warmth, honesty, and respect.

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and relational frameworks to help you build insight and explore deeper patterns that influence your life. I pull from other evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you build practical skills and initiate change that is aligned with the life you want to live. Together, we’ll work to identify goals that matter to you and craft a plan for progress that feels authentic and sustainable.

As a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC), I also support athletes, from recreational competitors to elite performers, with mental skills for optimal performance, resilience through setbacks, and transitions like injury or retirement. My background in sport psychology complements my clinical work, allowing me to address both mental health and performance concerns in a holistic way.

Choosing to start therapy is a courageous step. If you’re looking for a therapy experience that’s collaborative, compassionate, and designed to help you live the life you envision, I’d be honored to support you.
